Rebuild php from RPM Source (src.rpm) to Install php-fpm on Centos 6

Menginstall package yum-utils untuk mendapatkan command yumdownloader dan yum-builddep

yum install yum-utils

Secara default CentOS 6 tidak menyertakan yum repo untuk Source RPM, sehingga harus membuat sendiri [1], misalnya diletakkan di /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Vault-SRPMS-6.3.repo

Download RPM source dari package php

yumdownloader --source php

Untuk melakukan proses build package dibutuhkan package "Development tools"

yum groupinstall "Development tools"

Kelengkapan proses build package perlu di-download dengan menggunakan command

yum-builddep php-5.3.3-14.el6_3.src.rpm

Proses rebuild tanpa melakukan modifikasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan command

rpmbuild --rebuild --define 'dist .el6_3' php-5.3.3-14.el6_3.src.rpm

Jika proses berlangsung lancar akan menghasilkan sejumlah RPM file dalam direktori rpmbuild/RPMS/x86_64/ (dalam hal ini menggunakan arsitektur x86_64)

Untuk kebutuhan menambahkan fitur php-fpm maka kita butuh melakukan sejumlah modifikasi sebelum rebuild package.

Lakukan instalasi RPM Source yang telah di-download, dalam hal ini hasil instalasinya ada di /root/rpmbuild/

rpm -Uvh php-5.3.3-14.el6_3.src.rpm

Edit file php.spec dengan menambahkan fitur php-fpm untuk kemudian diproses rebuild package. Berikut adalah hasil diff antara php.spec yang original dan php.spec yang sudah memiliki fitur php-fpm

Lakukan proses rebuild

rpmbuild -bb --define 'dist .el6_3' php.spec 

Setelah rebuild package selesai dengan normal, php-fpm bisa diinstall dari direktori RPMS/x86_64/

rpm -Uvh php-fpm-5.3.3-14.el6_3.x86_64.rpm 

note: melakukan extract RPM tanpa instalasi [2]

rpm2cpio php-5.3.3-14.el6_3.src.rpm | cpio -idmv
